Other seasons of the show
The blacklist is a unique project. To be honest, I hate detective stories, thrillers and crime, but this is perhaps the first series that managed to get very interested. I would like to start with the obvious advantages. The plot is quite decent. There is a mysterious criminal Raymond (Red) Reddington, who for his own reasons helps the FBI uncover the most vile and dangerous thieves, maniacs and fraudsters. The true identity of this perpetrator was a mystery until the end of season six, and it seems like even in season seven there will be some zest. In general, intrigues, passions and unexpected outcomes are always waiting for us in this series. The role of Red was played by James Spader, who, in my subjective opinion, pulls the entire series to the highest level. The rest of the actors are good in their own way, but still fall a little short. The image of Reddington was written off by James “Whitey” Bulger, the famous American gangster. Of course, the character has been significantly redesigned, but it still has its own flavor. And James Spader did a great job. You can talk for a very long time about the plot and the main culprit of this series, so it’s worth moving on to the minuses. The main disadvantage is the scriptwriters. I think they forgot where they started. And every time the thrilling twists and turns are getting dumber and dumber. The result is an unreal dregs. As the saying goes, “well, very interesting, but nothing is clear.” In general, all the disadvantages are associated exclusively with the scriptwriters. For some reason, against the background of their delirium, I cannot even notice the other disadvantages, if they are, of course. One gets the feeling that the entire team of writers simply exhausted all their strength on the image of Reddington, and then they are unable to come up with something sensible. The next frank problem is the main character. I would like to spit in the face of the person who prescribed her character. With each season, actions become so stupid that it is simply impossible to justify them. At first they wanted to show her very intelligent and loving, then cunning and enterprising, then “strong and independent”. But things only got worse. At some moments, you just want to stop watching the series, only because of the mediocrely prescribed GG. But the good looks of Megan Boone, who embodied the FBI special agent Elizabeth Keane on the screen, makes you endure. In general, the actress copes well with the role. And the next, and at the same time the last minus – the prohibitive stupidity of the FBI agents. The further into the forest, the more firewood. If in the first seasons there was a contrast between a genital criminal and quite adequate law enforcement officers, then by the seventh season the agents had become just walking dummies. In the best traditions of the main character, they slow down like Windows 95, and their actions defy either masculine or feminine, or even animal logic. Let’s sum up the results. Despite the disadvantages that will make the fifth points of knowledgeable and simply smart people burn, the series is very good. These “shoals” are inherent in very many American TV series and it is quite possible that they are deliberately admitted for some secret purpose. And the pluses are so significant that you just want to keep watching episode after episode just for the sake of the main character. And after all, I really want to know who this Raymond Reddington is. There is something to surprise in this project, for example, the acting of James Spader, the jokes of the protagonist, as well as funny stories that the GG tells at the most suitable moments. You can laugh at stupid agents and of course try to predict the development of the plot and reveal the secrets yourself. This is exactly the show that you do not mind spending your time on.
